FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


To ensure our visitors can make the most of the 2024 Show, we have compiled a large list of frequently asked questions and answers.

Q: What are the show opening hours?

On the gate tickets only available from 12 noon Saturday.

VIP entry is from 8.30am on both days

Advanced standard ticket holders can enter the show at 9am on both days

Walk ups can enter the show at 9.30am on Sunday.

Show closes at 4.30pm on Sat and 4pm on Sunday.

Q: Who’s attending?

There are loads of exhibitors booked in and looking forward to seeing you again. You will be able to get all the latest products from the biggest brands at the numerous retailers that will be there.

Q: Is car parking FREE?

Yes, and VIP ticket holders will receive preferential parking. Parking will be clearly signed posted as you enter the showground. Visitors who have purchased The BIG ONE VIP tickets will need to ensure that they have their VIP parking hanger clearly on view as they enter the venue, otherwise, you may be filtered into the general car-parking lane.  

If you are a standard ticket holder please follow the digital signs directing you to the quickest area to park in. If the venue parking becomes full there will be a clearly signposted overflow car park with a free of charge shuttle bus provided for the short ride.

Q: Is there disabled access?

Yes there is. Please show your blue badge on arrival to the showground to gain access to this designated area. Blue badge holders must be present in the car.

Q: Concession Tickets

Concession tickets are only available for our visitors who are over 65's, aged 12 to 15 years and students. Proof will be required.

Q: Can a disabled carer get in the show for free?

The Big One welcomes visits from people with disabilities to the event along with their assistance dogs and we take every precaution to ensure maximum safety and enjoyment for everyone. A person (carer) will be eligible for complimentary access to the show if they are accompanying a registered disabled person that has one of the following proofs of entitlement and they have an application form filled in:

1.     Letter from consultant/doctor detailing the name of the person, the condition and why they are eligible and in need of a carer.

2.     Letter/notice of entitlement for Personal Independent Payment (PIP)

3.     Copy/proof of DLA entitlement

4.     Letter/proof of Dept of Working Pension (DWP)

Any of these proofs of entitlement will need to be supported by photographic ID.

Q: Are dogs allowed?

No, unless it is a assistance dog.

Q: Are children free?

Yes, if the child is under 12 years at the time of the event and is accompanied by a paying adult. Children aged 12-15 will be able to purchase at the concessionary ticket price.

Q: Do you need a ticket for the Angling Times Stage?

You do not need a ticket to watch these shows, however the seating is allocated on a 1st come 1st serve basis.

Q: Are there crèche facilities?

There are not.

Q: What is the Medical/First Aid procedure?

Please advise an onsite steward of any incident who can take you to our medical centre.

Q: Is there a cash machine on site?

Yes there is a cash machine and may be a charge.

Q: Can I take pictures/video at the event?

Photos are fine and we'd be delighted to receive them too! We have our own team creating video, so please ask for permission if you have a video request. Share photos with TBO on our Facebook page, Twitter or YouTube.

Q: Where is the event? 

Should you decide to travel by car, Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre is located just off the A325, accessible from the M3 (J4) and A31. Please follow signs for event car parking. For SatNav directions please use the postcode GU14 6TQ that will take you to the Queen’s Roundabout. From here, follow signs for event car parking.

We have been working hard with the venue to ensure that this year’s free parking will work smoothly. To avoid any hold up’s can all vehicles please follow the signs to Gate F and follow any stewards instructions as this will enable us to park all car’s quickly and without unnecessary queues. 

Can any VIP visitors please ensure that they have their VIP parking hanger clearly on view as they enter the venue, otherwise you may be filtered into the general car-parking lane.

Q: Why is there a transaction fee when buying tickets?

This is a standard practice when using SEE Tickets who are our ticket provider. The transaction fee is £1.50 for E-ticket (Print-at-home) or £2.50 for Standard Delivery. Please note that this fee is per transaction and not per ticket. This fee covers staff to come to the venue to scan your tickets, processing the orders, transaction bank charges and delivery charges on the standard delivery option.
